Get ready for an unforgettable face-to-face moment with one of Australia’s most extraordinary birds! Our Cassowary Meet & Greet is a mini encounter that invites you behind the scenes to meet Cooper the Cassowary, a vibrant, inquisitive giant of the rainforest.
Your adventure begins with exclusive closer access to Cooper’s enclosure, guided by our experienced keepers who know him best. As you step up close, you’ll witness firsthand his striking colours, towering presence, and curious personality that make cassowaries so iconic. Then comes the highlight: you’ll have the chance to feed Cooper yourself under the watchful guidance of our expert keepers.
Along the way, the zookeeper will be right by your side, ready to answer your questions one-on-one and share fascinating insights into cassowary behaviour, conservation, and what makes Cooper so special. And of course, you’ll get an incredible selfie opportunity with Cooper the perfect memory of meeting a true living dinosaur!

Cassowary Encounter Details
- Price: $50 per person
- Session time: Every day these school holidays at 11:30am & 2pm
- Duration: 10 minutes
- Age limit: 8 years+
- Group limit: Max. 6 people per session

- Please ensure you arrive at Reception no later than 15 minutes before the start of the Encounter.
- Enclosed shoes must be worn during the encounter
- Only paying participants will be able to attend this encounter
- This encounter does not include park entry
Frequently Asked Questions
No, our animal encounter prices do not include general admission to the Park. Admissions tickets can be purchased in your checkout.
Our Alligator Encounters can be booked for people ages strictly 8+
Suitable and comfortable clothing and footwear must be worn on the day. We recommend long pants to avoid any scratches.
If at the time of your encounter there is extreme weather or other conditions, the encounter will be cancelled to ensure the wellbeing of our animals.
Bookings for Animal Encounters are non-refundable. In the event that you cannot attend your booked time, we will endeavour to arrange another time, subject to availability.
